To be in compliance with the new healthcare reform laws and avoid costly penalties, you must purchase insurance coverage that pays at least 60% of the costs of the following "essential benefits".
-Ambulatory patient services
-Maternity and newborn care
-Mental health and Substance use disorder services
-Rehabilitative and habilitative services and devices;
-Preventive and wellness services and chronic disease management
-Pediatric services, including oral and vision care
If you go through the exchanges, the bronze plan would meet the minimum requirement. Keep in mind that we may be able to assist you in the private market in finding plans that are better or meet all requirements of the Affordable Care Act at the same or at a lower premium.
